The Predators were fading heading into the break and a win over a reeling Sabres squad doesn’t move the needle all that much. Nashville has struggled to dent the twine even after their big splashes in free agency and their goaltending has struggled as well, ranking fourth-worst in goals per game and seventh-worst in goals against on the year. Colorado has made some moves during the course of the season to address their weaknesses and improve the team. The Avalanche are bound to make a strong push in the stretch run and climb into a guaranteed playoff spot in the Central Division.
