HomeTown Lenders Bahamas Bowl. TOTAL
(NCAAF) Miami-OH vs. UAB,
Total: 45.50 | -104.00 Under
Result: Win
Bowl season begins with the HomeTown Lenders Bahamas Bowl. Miami of Ohio and UAB both enter this game with identical 6-6 records. Miami of Ohio won their last two games of the season to make it to a bowl game. Freshman quarterback Aveon Smith has only played in nine games this season after taking over for Brett Gabbert; after Gabbert got injured.
When tasked with the underdog role, Miami is 4-3 against the spread. Miami has struggled all season on the offensive side, putting up just 20.3 points and 209 yards a game. The defense has played better, allowing 22.5 points a game. UAB finished the season 6-6 and made a bowl for the sixth straight time. Bryant Vincent was named the interim head coach before the season even started but will be replaced next season. They have the Conference USA's offensive player of the year in DeWayne McBride. He averaged 142 yards a game on the ground and recorded 19 total touchdowns this year. The Blazers put up 30.6 points on offense. You will see a lot of running from UAb and why not? they have the fifth-best rushing offense in the country and one of the best running backs in the country. Miami's offense has struggled all season and has a freshman at quarterback. Unless big plays happen or turnovers lead to short fields I think points will come at a premium. Miami has gone under in six of their last seven non-conference games. UAB has gone under in five of its last seven non-conference games. I am looking for a lower-scoring game that goes under the number.
