COLUMBIA +17.5
(NCAAB) Lions (CLMB) vs. Wildcats (VILL),
Point Spread: 17.50 | -110.00 Lions (CLMB) (Away)
Result: Win
Columbia returns five of its top seven scorers from a team that was 18th in the nation in 3-point shooting (37.4%) last season. That includes senior guard Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa, who led the Lions in scoring in each of the last two seasons. He tallied 24 points on 7-of-13 shooting, with eight rebounds, three assists and three steals in Columbia's season-opening win. Junior Kenny Noland, the team's second-leading scorer last season, scored a career-high 19 points with five assists and two steals.

The Wildcats lost A LOT of players from last year's squad, as they return just two contributors. They struggled to put away Lafayette on opening night, turning the ball over 17 times and shooting just 30.8 percent from three-point range. They failed to cover as 18.5-point favorites in that game, as the first half featured nine lead changes and Nova needed a late surge to win by 12. The Cats also had 14 turnovers in an exhibition against Robert Morris.

Nova allows a lot of threes, which could prove problematic against the high-tempo, three-point sharpshooting Lions. Slow-paced Villanova is coming off a disappointing season and lacks the athleticism and experience to cover this spread.
