10* Underdog Slammer
(NCAAF) UCLA vs. Nebraska, 09/14/2013 8:00 AM, Score: 41 - 21
Point Spread: 3.00 | -110.00 UCLA (Away)
Result: Win
The Bruins are off a bye, so they have two weeks of preparation to help stop Nebraska's offense. They probably won't, although you have to like that they held Nevada's very productive offense to only 10 yards per minute of of-fensive possession in their opener. That, and the fact that they out-clocked the Huskers 37:40 to 22:20 last season, out-yarding them by 200 in a 36-30 home win, are pro-Bruin fodder. Last season's game was of?ciated by Big Ten referees on Pac 12 soil. UCLA was ?agged for 11 penalties for 126 yards, pretty much what you'd expect when the of?ciating crew is being paid by the conference of the other team, right? Yet the Bruins still won the game. We can assume that this one will be of?ciated by Pac 12 guys. Nebraska was 1-for-11 on third down in last season's loss and have not been a good 3rd down team. UCLA Wide receiver Nick Pasquale was hit by a car and killed while walking in his hometown of San Clemente on Sunday and the team will be motivated to get this win and the rest of the season for him the they'll all be wearing his number of their jerseys. UCLA has more speed and better coached and I like them as an underdog on Saturday.
