Money Line: -150.00 LA Dodgers (Home)
Result: Loss
Play: Los Angeles Dodgers
Rating: 8*
The Los Angeles Dodgers hammered the Pittsburgh Pirates for 17 hits in Saturday's 8-3 victory, and they've now won five of their last seven games.
Brett Anderson (2015: 10-9, 3.69) will take the ball for Los Angeles in the rubber match of this three-game series Sunday afternoon. Anderson will make his season debut as he's returning after undergoing arthroscopic back surgery for a bulging disk on March 3. He's compiled a 2.25 ERA in three rebab starts with Class A Rancho Cucamonga and Triple-A Oklahoma City, and I think he'll come up with a big performance today. Anderson is 1-0 with a 0.68 ERA through two career starts against Pittsburgh while limiting the Pirates to a .130 batting average.
Pittsburgh turns to Chad Kuhl (2-0, 3.91 ERA) He allowed two runs on four hits with four strikeouts and four walks in a 6-4 decision over the Padres home in Pittsburgh last Tuesday. He defeated the Dodgers and Clayton Kershaw at PNC Park back in June, but the Dodgers should be able to get to him today.
The Dodgers are 21-10 in day games and we have an umpire favoring the Dodgers in this contest; Dodgers are 10-4 in their last 14 games with Chad Fairchild behind home plate while Pirates are 8-20 in their last 28.
