Money Line: -139.00 Baltimore (Home)
Result: Loss
Play: Baltimore Orioles
Rating: 8*
The Baltimore Orioles put up eight runs in last night's meeting with the Houston Astros but they still ended up a 15-8 loser. The Birds have scored a total of 21 runs in the first two meetings of this series, and I like them to stay hot and claim tonight's contest.
Mike Fiers (8-6, 4.66 ERA) takes the ball for the visiting Astros. He's been ripped for nine runs on 12 hits and four walks while serving up a total of five homers through 9 2/3 innings in his last two starts combined (at Toronto and Minnesota). He's 2-3 with a bloated 6.27 ERA in 11 appearances on the road this season and I think his struggles will continue against this home run happy Baltimore team.
The Orioles turn to Chris Tillman (15-4, 3.46 ERA) who was scheduled to start on Wednesday but had it pushed back due to shoulder discomfort. Tillman is 8-1 with a 3.74 ERA in 13 home starts on the season and he held Houston to a pair of runs on three hits in seven innings earlier this season.
Astros are 4-13 in the last 17 meetings in Baltimore, and I like the Orioles to bounce back with a win here after last night's pounding.
