Play: New York Yankees
Rating: 5*
The New York Yankees have outscored the Los Angeles Angels 12-1 in winning the first two games of the series. Look for the Bronx Bombers to show no mercy in the series finale Sunday afternoon.
Chad Green (2-2, 4.05 ERA) takes the ball for the Yankees. He's coming off his best start of the season when he punched out 11 while holding the Blue Jays scorless over six innings of two-hit ball. A bonus is that he'll be backed up by a well rested bullpen.
The Halos turn to Jhoulys Chacin (3-8, 5.92) who has surrendered 11 runs and 13 hits in only six total innings in his last two starts combined since rejoining the rotation. Chacin made his first career start against the Yankees on June 9, when he surrendered five runs and seven hits over 5 1/3 innings of a loss at New York. Chacin has a bloated 1.93 WHIP and the Yankees are 7-0 in their last seven games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30.
The Angels are 4-18 in their last 22 vs. a team with a winning record, this is a great price on the Yankees.
