Money Line: -102.00 Detroit (Away)
Result: Win
Play: Detroit Tigers
Rating: 10*
The Detroit Tigers own a 9-2 record against Minnesota this season and they've outscored the Twins 17-7 through the first two games of this series. I love the price we get on another Tigers win Thursday afternoon.
Left-hander Daniel Norris (1-2, 3.81 ERA) takes the ball for Detroit. He's not allowed more than three runs in any of his eight starts this season. It's a bit worrisome that he's not lasted more than 5 1/3 innings in any start, but with a rested Detroit bullpen that shouldn't be much of an issue.
The Twins bullpen meanwhile had to work overtime yesterday as Tyler Duffey lasted only three innings. Today Jose Berrios (2-3, 9.28) will take the ball for Minnesota. He's surrendered 24 runs on 27 hits in his last five outings while covering only a total of 17 2/3 innings. Berrios was tagged with seven runs and four walks in just two-thirds of an inning when he took o the Tigers on May 16.
The Twins are 4-14 in their last 18 games after losing the first two games of a series, so they're not a team that comes together to avoid a sweep.
