This will be the fourth meeting of the season. The Washington Capitals have won a couple of one-goal games at Carolina while the Hurricanes won 3-1 here at Capital One Arena on Jan. 11.

Carolina is currently nine points out of the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference playoff standings and a loss here would officially eliminate the Canes from playoff contention. They most likely won't make the playoffs anyhow, but at they're still putting up a fight and had won three straight prior to a 4-3 loss to New Jersey on Tuesday.

The Caps are sitting comfortably at the top of the Metropolitan Division and have won five straight, three by one goal and two by two goals. Carolina is a solid 24-10 against the puckline as an underdog this season.
