Stephen Nover's Wednesday Wipeout 'Dog Winner
(MLB) Seattle vs. LA Angels, 09/17/2014 6:05 PM, Score: 0 - 5
Money Line: 112.00 Seattle (Away)
Result: Loss
The Angels cliched a playoff spot for the first time since 2009 a couple of days ago and have been playing sloppy. They are 1-2 in their last three games with their losses coming to a pair of lefties by a combined score of 19-3.

Now the Angels take on southpaw James Paxton with their own lefty, C.J. Wilson, who is having a bad season. Wilson has a 4.61 ERA, which balloons to 5.43 when he pitches at night. He labored through 108 pitches in just five innings while giving up three runs against the Astros during his last start this past Friday. The Angels' bullpen has fatigue issues.

The Mariners are 29-19 versus lefties this season. They have defeated Wilson the past three times they've faced him. Wilson's ERA in these three outings is 4.98.

While the Angels are in the postseason, the Mariners are one game out of a wild-card spot. They have won nine of their last 12 road contests and are 8-3 in Paxton's last 11 starts. The Angels are 3-8 the past 11 times Wilson has gone against an opponent with a winning record.

Paxton is one of the more underrated pitchers with a 6-2 record and 1.83 ERA. He allowed just one earned run against Oakland in six innings with eight strikeouts in his last start this past Friday.
