The Avs are off to a terrible start to the season, and injuries to their top two netminders aren't going to help matters in Montreal tonight. Colorado opened up a 3-1 first period lead on the Sens in Ottawa Thursday, but after Reto Berra left the game with an injury, backup Calvin Pickard surrendered four goals and the Sens came back to win by a score of 5-3.
Carey Price hasn't been that sharp for the Habs, as he still may be recovering from an injury he suffered in last year's playoffs. Price is 3-1 with a 3.75 GAA so far. He doesn't have great numbers in past meetings with Colorado, going 1-2-1 with a 3.47 GAA.
Montreal has also struggled on special teams, surrendering five power-play goals, only killing 76% of their shorthanded situations.
Four of the last five meetings in Montreal have gone over the total, and I expect that trend to continue tonight.
