The Devils opened the season with three straight wins, but have since been outscored 10-4 in consecutive losses to Washington and San Jose. They will will host bitter rivals New York at the Meadowlands tonight, and the Rangers are coming off back to back wins. New Jersey missed the playoffs last year, while the Rangers went all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals.
Henrik Lundqvist stopped 62-of-63 shots in his last two starts, while Corey Schneider was pulled after allowing five goals in 43 minutes against the Caps, and he followed that up with another sub par performance in a loss to San Jose.
The Rangers have struggled on the man-advantage, still looking for their first power-play goal. They might be in luck though, as New Jersey has been brutal killing penalties, surrendering six power-play goals so far.
The Devils will have to keep an eye on Rick Nash, he leads the NHL with seven goals so far. I'll take the visitors as a dog here, looking to make it three straight wins in their last three visits to New Jersey.
