Perhaps it's not too late for the Red Wings to make a move on a playoff spot after all. It took a game or two, but new HC Todd McLellan (who replaced Derek Lalonde during Christmas week) has now seen his team rattle off five wins in a row to get within shouting distance of playoff territory. Cam Talbot is back in goal after getting the win on Tuesday in the 3-2 OT success vs. Ottawa, but Detroit has been scoring enough goals (17 in the first four games of the uptick) to succeed lately, with C Dylan Larkin especially hot, scoring five goals across the last four games. As for the Blackhawks, they're off of an encouraging home win over the Avs on Wednesday but back on the road could be a problem, as Chicago has lost five straight and eight of nine away games, allowing a whopping 25 goals across the last five losses as a visitor. Goalie Petr Mrazek, expected back in the nets tonight, did get the win over Colorado but was 0-6 into Wednesday, his last previous credited win on November 27. Mrazek also had a very, very subpar 5.39 GAA and .812 saves in six December efforts. Play Red Wings on Pock Line
