This has often been Dana Altman's time of the year in March and the Ducks fan base likely flocks to Seattle as old Pac-12 hostilities are renewed vs. Arizona. The last time these two faced was in the last Pac-12 Tourney a year ago when Oregon won a semifinal matchup on the way to the tourney crown that saved a Big Dance invite, which the Ducks used to upset South Carolina in the opener before taking Creighton to double OT in the second round. No such dramatics were needed to qualify this season as Altman had had 7-2 C Nate Bittle (14.1 ppg) available since November, while the scoring balance has improved with Villanova transfer wing TJ Bamba (10.3 ppg) now complementing classy 2-year starter Jackson Shelstad (13.4 ppg), and the Friday romp past Liberty was near-flawless.The Cats were hitting almost everything on Friday vs. what was an outmanned Akron, but UA won't be able to dictate matters the same way vs. the Ducks, and Altman's track record in March is worth noting in comparison to Cat counterpart Tommy Lloyd. Play Oregon (NCAA at Seattle)
