Indians over Tigers- The Detroit Tigers opened the season knocking the stuffing out of the ball outscoring the Twins 22-1 in their home three-game sweep to start the year. They had 13 extra-base hits and benefited with 15 walks. The Cleveland Indians had some glory of their own as a near no-hitter was spoiled in the ninth in their 5-1 win over Houston yesterday. Alfredo Simon (15-10, 3.44 ERA) won 12 games before the All-star break last season for the Reds before falling off to a 3-7, 4.52 ERA finish, he was traded to the Tigers in the winter. Cleveland starter Zach Mc Allister posted a 2.84 ERA in the spring with 28 strikeouts and only four walks. In a different park and the Indians home opener provides a different back ground and result. Take CLEVELAND!
