Carolina lost all three games to the Bruins in the regular season, but the Canes looked dominant in their three-game sweep of the Rangers, holding New York to just four goals total.
The Bruins went 0-3 in their round robin games. Was that by design? I don't think so. The momentum Boston had in the regular season has been lost along the way over the last three months, while the extra time off has clearly helped Carolina.
Outright upset?! Very possible, but in the end let's lay the price for the extra goal and a half of insurance.
