This is a 10* UNDERDOG GAME OF THE YEAR on the San Diego Padres.
Two teams from the same state, in different divisions and with similar records collide in this interleague contest on Wednesday night and in my opinion, the value definitely lies with the undervalued underdog here.
Zach Davies (2-1, 2.87 ERA) starts for the Friars and the veteran enters this contest on top form early, most recenently going six scoreless vs. Arizona on Friday. Davies only needed 84 pitches to get through the outing, 53 of which were for strikes.
Julio Urias (1-0, 2.40) gave up one run while striking out two over four innings in a no-decisoin vs. the Giants on Friday.
Urias has faced suspect competition to this point and I think he'll struggle to keep pace with the red hot Davies.
LA is over-priced here, I love the dog in the upset role!
