Total: 9.50 | -116.00 Under
The first two games of this series have showcased incredible offensive talent, but I'm expecting the finale to be more of a "duel."
Washington won the opener 17-2, and then Arizona returned the favor in a blowout 11-4 victory last night.
Note that the Nationals have seen the total go UNDER the number in seven of their last ten in trying to revenge a loss vs. an opponent in which they conceded ten or more runs in.
Erick Fedde is 2-4 with a 5.29 ERA for the Nationals. He's coming off a decent start, allowing three runs and striking out four over five innings in a loss to the Phillies.
Luke Weaver is 2-3 with a 5.00 ERA for the D-Backs, but he's coming off his strongest start of the season, going 6.1 scoreless and allowing just four hits in a win over Miami.
After poor starts, both pitchers are absolutely now trending in a positive direction and there's no reason not to think that they won't continue to progress here.
The overall situation, combined with the numbers/trends all point to the UNDER as the correct call in this one.
Good luck, NP
