A couple of decent starting pitchers going head-to-head here in the opener of this interleague series, but we still expect this total to fly OVER before it's finished.
The vistors go with Lance Lynn, who is 4-1 with a 1.55 ERA and who most recently settled for a no-decision in his last outing vs. the Twins, allowing two runs over six innings.
Lynn's been unreal, but regression at some point is imminent. Hard to say anything negative about Lynn, I simply feel he's in the wrong place at the wrong time here.
The home side counters with Kwang Hyun-Kim, who is 1-1 with a 2.73 ERA, but who was most recently shelled for four runs over 3.1 innings in a loss to the Friars last weekend.
Off three straight losses to the Yanks, the White Sox won't be lacking for motivation today (also note that Chicago has seen the total go OVER in eight of its last 12 after playing to three or more straight UNDERS in a row.)
Everything points to this one flying OVER as the game comes down the stretch.
