I think the Islanders will win at home here in Game 6. New York earned the 3-2 OT win in Pittsburgh last night, which is significant, as it has a much better record at home, than on the road.
Same thing for the Penguins, who are 23-4-3-1 at home, and only 16-13-1-0 on the road.
Looking at season averages, Pittsburgh has the better offensive numbers. But these teams average the same defensively, and I expect the hungrier home side to deliver in friendly confines.
For me, this isn't based upon the actual players on the ice, it's a great situational wager that's backed by strong trends.
Great value on the more desperate home side. The play is the ISLANDERS.
