While the first two games of this series have flown well OVER the number, I think that the third game of this four-game series finally sets up as more of a DUEL.
The visitors hand the ball to Kyle Hendricks, who is 12-4 with a 3.65 ERA. Hendricks came out of the break and won his tenth straight decision in a victory over Arizona on Friday, allowing one run over six innings. He's been great on the road as well, going 6-1 with a 3.42 ERA.
Adam Wainwright is 7-6 with a 3.71 ERA. He suffered a loss in his first start out of the break, allowing four runs over six innings in to the Giants. The setback snapped a streak of six straight outings that he's avoided a loss.
It's been a bounce-back campaign for Wainwright, who has for sure been at his best at home, going 4-4 with a 2.84 ERA.
Look for these two competent starting hurlers to garner most of the headlines in tomorrow's summaries.
