It's a Battle on Tobacco Road as NC State takes on UNC. The Wolfpack comes into this game at 7-4 and just 3-8 against the spread. UNC has posted a 9-2 record and is 6-5 ATS. NC State comes into this game on a two-game losing streak. Since starting quarterback Devin Leary has been out, the offense has struggled, putting up 18.2 points a game. Before the injury, they were putting up 32.4 points. Once again. they will have to rely on their defense to slow down the Tar Heels. North Carolina has clinched the ACC's Coastal Division but blew a 17-0 lead in a stunning and important loss to Georgia Tech last week. The UNC offense is putting up 38.0 points a game, and they usually need all those points as their defense is ranked 99th or worse in points surrendered, rushing yards allowed, passing yards allowed, and total yards allowed a game. NC State will be without their top two quarterbacks. The NC State defense could hold its own for the majority of the game, but it will be difficult to keep this Tar Heel offense down for the whole game. Maye had a bad bad game last time out and I expect him to bounce back in this one. NC Stae is 0-4 ATS in its last four road games versus a team with a winning home record and 1-7 ATS in its last eight conference games. NC will put things together as they get ready for Clemson.
