Dayton, at 21-5, is off back-to-back losses for the first time this season. Part of the reason is tonight will be the 5th game they are without their #3 scorer Kendall Pollard and the other is that the Atlantic-10's top scoring defense which was allowing 63 ppg has allowed a conference high 79 points in each of those two losses.
St Louis, at 10-16, is actually off back-to-back wins as their offense which was scoring 54 ppg in their previous 5 games put up 79 and 76 points respectively. In the BIlikins 14 previous games they only topped 41% shooting twice but hit 49.3% and 52.3% respectively their last two. Tonight we simply expect a return to normalcy as a weaker team off back-to-back upsets returns to a more familiar shooting % (currently #265 in NCAA) while the team that will be playing in the tournament returns to their more familiar scoring defense (#34 NCAA).
