10* NBA Game of the Week
(NBA) Cleveland vs. Toronto,
Point Spread: -1.50 | -102.00 Cleveland (Away)
Result: Loss
Since Tyronn Lue has taken over as head coach for Cleveland he has mentioned the Toronto Raptors a lot.
He talked of only resting his star once the threat of the Raptors catching them for first place in the East has been diminished. Now he's backed off a bit on that statement but it clearly seems he was looking ahead as the Big Three (LBJ, Irving & Love) only played 88 of the possible 144 minutes on Wednesday with LeBron sitting almost the entire 4Q.

Channing Frye saw his first action for the Cavs on Wednesday and after hitting 4 of 8 from outside the arc that is a new wrinkle the Raptors must also account for on defense.

When we have a basically pick'em game I like to look back at how the team have done recently and I gauge elite team as those that are among the top in +/- point differential.
In the last 30 days both are in the top 6 with Cleveland #2 and Toronto #6 (FYI: San Antonio #1, Portland , LAC & GS #3-5). The big difference is that in that 30 day span both teams have 3 losses (Cle 10 wins, Toronto 9) BUT the Cavs have played FOUR opponents which are in the top 10 of this category while Toronto has faced NONE.
The clincher is that since February 1st when we expect championship caliber teams to start playing shut-down defense the Cavs have done that as they are #5 in the NBA (held 2 teams under 40%, none over 50%) while Toronto is #18 (1 under 40%, 3 OVER 50%).
Look for the Cleveland Cavs to make a statement here on the road.
