Result: Win
Now, the A's gave the Yankees all they wanted despite being swept on the road in the Bronx after losing Wednesday night. Oakland is throwing a relative unknown in Adrian Martinez, who won his major league debut in the second game of a doubleheader against the Tigers back on May 10 with 5.1 scoreless frames. With that said, he hasn't set the world on fire in Triple-A, going 4-3 with a 5.63 ERA, a 1.406 WHIP, 23 walks and 73 strikeouts over 64 innings in 13 starts with Las Vegas. We've talked at length about Oakland's inability to put runs on the board and they have their work cut out here. Logan Gilbert has gone 4-1 in his last six starts and the Mariners are 5-1 in those outings. Seattle took two of three from the Orioles at home and have won eight of the last 10 meetings with the A's, including four of six this season. The Mariners should take advantage of a young pitcher and have Gilbert shut the A's down to deliver a win here.
