The Predators have scuffled badly this season after spending a truckload of cash in free agency to bring in Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault and Brady Skjei in during the offseason. Nashville had high expectations but they have yet to fully put things together. Meanwhile, Toronto has turned things around after a sluggish start, including having success while Matthews was on injured reserve. The Maple Leafs have also gotten by without guys like Calle Jarnkrok, Max Domi, Max Pacioretty and Bobby McMann, among others this season.
