Notre Dame is a better team with Burton in the mix, as we saw in the loss to Syracuse as he picked up 28 points in the game. The problem for the Fighting Irish is that he has missed substantial time this season. Notre Dame also isn’t overly deep in their rotation as once you get past Burton, Shrewsberry, Davis and Allocco, there isn’t much else in terms of scoring depth. Virginia doesn’t score much at all but they are extremely stingy on the defensive end of the floor. Notre Dame won their opening road game this season but they have dropped their last five contests as the visiting team. That runs to six games as Virginia picks up another home win on the strength of its defense.
