Kaiser's MLB Dog Eat Dog Signature Underdog Play
(MLB) Atlanta vs. NY Mets,
Money Line: 131.00 Atlanta (Away)
Result: Loss
The Atlanta Braves are being talked about as World Series contenders by many experts. With an offensive line-up that includes Marcell Ozuna, Travis d'Arnaud, Ronald Acuña Jr., Ozzie Albies, and Freddie Freeman, you can't blame people for thinking this team can go places. . The Braves won 97 games last year, on their way to winning the NL East. They will have to replace to of their veteran pitchers as Julio Teheran and Dallas Keuchel took their arms elsewhere. Mike Soroka gets the start for the Braves in this one. He was an outstanding 13-4 with a 2.68 ERA and 142 strikeouts last season. In his career against the Mets, he is 4-0 with a 2.73 ERA and 22 strikeouts in his career against the Mets.

The New York Mets are looking to turn things around, after not living up to expectations the last couple of seasons. The Mets offense is led by Jeff McNeil and Pete Alonso and a healthy Yoenis Céspedes should help. The Mets starting rotation has been hit by the injury bug, with both Marcus Stroman and Noah Syndergaard on the IL. Jacob deGrom gets the start for the Mets. Last season, he was 11-8 with a 2.43 ERA and 255 strikeouts. In his career against the Braves, he is 7-7 with a 1.97 ERA and 163 strikeouts.

deGrom has been a great pitcher, but as this a strange season you are never sure how long he will go. Soroka pitches well against the Mets in his career and is pitching for the better team. I am taking the better offense at plus money.

Play on the Atlanta Braves.
