THE PROFESSOR’S MLB TOTALS PLAY
(MLB) Atlanta vs. NY Mets,
Total: 9.50 | -107.00 Over
Result: Win
The Braves and Mets have played two exciting games to start the season, with the Mets taking the first game 1-0, and the Braves bouncing back to take game two 5-3 in 10. The Braves will look to take the series with Sean Newcomb taking the mound. Last season, he went 6-3 with a 3.16 ERA and 65 strikeouts. Newcomb spent a lot of time in the pen and will look to this start to try and prove he belongs in the starting rotation.

The Mets have a chance to go 2-1 on the season even though the offense has only managed three runs in eighteen innings. They did outhit the Braves 9-8 yesterday but were unable to turn those hits into runs. Rick Porcello will take the mound for the Mets. Last season, he was 14-12 record with a 5.52 ERA and 143 strikeouts.
I am going on the over in this one. Game one had no scoring but that was due to the fact you had two great pitchers on the mound. Both teams started hitting in game two and I see that trend continuing today. Newcomb has not really spent a lot of time as a starter lately, so we will have to see how he does in the role and how long he will be able to go. Porcello is decent but not great so I don't see him shutting down the Braves bats. I look for more scoring and this game going over the total.

Play on the OVER.
