This will be Game 2 of the American League Championship Series between the Astros and Rays this week. The Rays came away with a 2-1 win in Game 1. The Astros out-hit Tampa Bay 9-6 and could only manage a Jose Altuve solo home run for their efforts. Starting pitcher Framber Valdez logged 6.0 innings with four hits, two earned runs, and eight strikeouts. Houston will look to even the series by sending Lance McCullers to the mound. He has made 11 starts this season and has posted a 3-3 record with a 3.93 ERA. Over 12 games (five starts) in his postseason career, he is 1-0 with a 3.25 ERA.

The Rays rode an outstanding performance from Blake Snell to come away with a 2-1 win. Starting pitcher Blake Snell went 5.0 innings, allowing six hits and one earned run with two strikeouts. Tampa Bay will send Charlie Morton to the mound for today's start. He has made nine starts this season, posting a 2-2 record with a 4.74 ERA. Over his postseason career, Morton is 5-2 with a 3.50 ERA.

I am looking for another close game in this one with the winning runs coming late. Both teams struggled to score in game one and both starters today should be able to do the same. The Rays have a great pen and scoring late could be a problem for the Astros.
