Result: Loss
The Atlanta Braves drew first blood in Game 1 of their best-of-seven NLCS matchup against the LA Dodgers. Game 1 was tied 1-1 heading into the ninth inning, where the Braves exploded for four runs to secure the win. Braves starter Max Fried gave them 6.0 strong innings giving up just four hits, allowing just one earned run, with two walks and nine strikeouts. The Braves will hand the ball to Ian Anderson for a Game 2 start. He made six starts during the regular season, posting a 3-2 record with a 1.95 ERA. This postseason Anderson is 2-0 without allowing an earned run with 17 Ks in 11.2 innings.

The Dodgers got a great start from Walker Buehler but couldn't get their vaunted offense going against Braves pitchers. They managed just four hits and drew only two walks. Walker Buehler went five innings, allowing just three hits and an earned run while striking out seven and walking five. The Dodgers will try and even the series by sending Clayton Kershaw to the mound. In ten starts this season, he has posted a 6-2 record with a 2.16 ERA. Kershaw has been average in his postseason career, going just 11-11 with a 4.23 ERA.

Kershaw this postseason has posted a 2-0 record with a 1.93 ERA and 19 Ks in 14.0 frames. Kershaw also has a 0.43 career postseason ERA versus the Braves. Anderson has not given up an earned run in the postseason this year. The bats for both teams were quiet yesterday and I look for that to continue this game with these two outstanding pitchers.
