The Seattle Mariners dropped the first game of their three-game set against the Detroit Tigers. The Mariners will look to get back into the win column by sending Chris Flexen to the mound. He has posted a 4.70 ERA with 33 strikeouts and 11 walks with 53.2 innings. The Tigers will counter with Casey Mize making the start. He has posted a 3.34 ERA with 53 strikeouts and 20 walks in 64.2 innings.

Mize went 7.2 innings and gave up just one run against the Mariners last month in Seattle. Flexen has not pitched well on the road posting an ERA over 8 but when at home he has an ERA under three so you would think these would have to even out at some point. You would not confuse either offense with the Dodgers or White Sox as they both rank in the lower part of the league. Mize should be able to keep the Mariners in check and I think Flexen does enough to keep this game under the number.
