The Philadelphia Phillies have taken the first two games of a four-game set against the Chicago Cubs. yesterday's win extended the Cubs losing streak to eleven games. Philadelphia's offense has been feasting on Cubs pitching scoring 13 and 15 runs in the first two games. The Phillies will look to extend the Cub's woes by sending Zack Wheeler to the mound. He has posted a 2.05 ERA with 139 strikeouts and 25 walks in 114.0 innings. The wheels have fallen off for the Cubs. They were in first place not too long ago and now find themselves in third place in the NL Central and have lost 11 in a row. Jake Arrieta had another bad outing, giving up 7 earned runs in just 1.2 innings. The Cubs will try and snap their losing streak with Alec Mills making the start. So far this season, he has posted a 4.85 ERA with 35 strikeouts and 15 walks in 42.2 innings.

Mills has given up four earned on 16 hits in 14.2 innings over his last three starts. Wheeler has been even better, giving up just three earned in his last five starts, and in four of them he gave up no earned. Mills has gone just under 5 innings in each of his last three starts but will need to go further as the Cubs pen has to pitch a lot in the first two games this series. Wheeler is the better pitcher and will be able to handle this Cubs team that is sputtering in all aspects of their play.
