The Chicago Cubs take on their NL Central rivals the Milwaukee Brewers in a four game series in Milwaukee. The Cubs took two of three at home earlier this season from the Brewers but they are coming off two straight losses to the Cardinals and Milwaukee took two of three over Boston. Chicago has lost nine of their last 12 and are 3.5 games behind the Brewers for the top spot in the division. Justin Steele gets the start for the Cubs. He is 0-2 with a 5.68 ERA,and a 1.184 WHIP. In his last three starts, Steele is 0-2 with an 8.44 ERA, and a 1.38 WHIP. The Brewers will go with Robert Gasser on the mound. He is 2-0 with a 2.65 ERA, and a 1.118 WHIP. Gasser is not overpowering batters and that could be a problem against the Cubs. Steele has pitched well against Milwaukee in his career but has struggled since he has returned from injury. The Cubs need this win and Steele needs to get back to being the ace of the staff. I will take a chance on the Cubs in this one despite a quick turnaround.
