The Cardinals will start Andre Pallante while the Cubs will go with Shota Imanaga. Pallante is 2-1 with a 3.86 ERA. Imanaga has been the Cubs best pitcher this season. He has struggled in his last two appearances, allowing 12 runs (eight earned) in just 8.2 innings. Despite that, he has posted a 1.96 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP. The Cubs are 10-2 when he pitches. All of Pallante’s earned runs came in that awful start against Houston. I look for him to pitch better against a Cub’s team that has been struggling at the plate. Imanaga has been dominant outside his last two starts. The Cardinals are averaging under four runs in their last 10 games against the Cubs. The total has gone under six in a row for Chicago.
