The Los Angeles Angels open a series with the reeling Chicago Cubs. The Angels have lost four in a row after putting together a six game winning streak. Griffin Canning gets the ball for the Angels. He has not had a great June, posting a 4.14 ERA through five starts. The Cubs have been a disappointment this season. Their starting pitching has been solid but their bullpen as well as their offense has been horrible. Justin Steele takes the mound for the Cubs. He was injured in his first start, pitched poorly in May but has turned it around in June, allowing nine runs in 38.2 innings. The Cubs are 6-4 in their last ten against the Halo’s. The Angels are just 1-5 in their last six road games. Justin Steele has a 3.20 overall ERA and has not allowed more than three runs in his last five games. The Cubs offense put up 10 yesterday against the Phillies and I look for them to carry that momentum over to today.
