It wasn’t easy but the Chicago Cubs took care of their crosstown rivals in game one of their weekend series. The Cubs have not lived up to expectations and find themselves four in the NL Central and 5 games back for the last playoff spot, They are putting up 4.24 runs per game. Justin Steele will take the mound for the Cubs. He is 3-5 with a 3.33 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP. The White Sox are making a gallant effort to be the worst team in baseball. Biit even firing their coach will make a difference. They score just 3.1 runs a game, even though they did score six in yesterday's loss, they traded away their to producers at the deadline. Chris Flexen will take the mound for the Cubbies. He is 2-11 with a 5.53 ERA and a 1.49 WHIP in 114.0 innings. Last time out he went 1.2 innings and allowed 8 runs. Over their last five starts, Justin Steele is 3-2 with a 3.71 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP while Chris Flexen is 0-4 with a 6.43 ERA and a 1.69 WHIP. The Cubs have been inconsistent at the plate but the Sox have been just plain bad all season long.
