UMass ate by far the better overall team and should greatly outclass their opponents in the rebounding category and defensive metrics. Old Dominion allow more points per game than UMass, worse at defending the 3pt shot, struggle to get to the free-throw line, and predicates their game plan on winning by shooting three-pointers. UMass is 7-3 overall and 8-2 to the over in those 10 games so they aren't shy to get into a shootout if that's what Old Dominion want to do. Back to the rebounding discrepancy, best player for UMass 6"10 forward Josh Cohen just dropped 28 on Portland in their 100-78 explosive win. UMass are feeling hot, heading into this second tournament match vs Old Dominion who looked good but only beat a Temple Owls team who couldn't edge them out in the last 10 minutes, but struggled on the boards vs OD and lost by 15 points being the weaker of the two teams. I'll lay the points with UMass as this will be a greater step up in competition for Old D. Both defenses are suspect so expect this to be a high scoring game too.
