I’m on the Giants on the road at the Rockies for these reasons:

- Hayden Birdsong has had a good start to the season. He’s 1-0 overall as a starter this season, with a 3.72 ERA, and 18 strikeouts in 19 innings. His first start went well, against a much better team in the Atlanta Braves. He only allowed them 2 runs and 4 hits while throwing 5 strikeouts. He’s only allowed an average of 2 runs in his last 18 innings pitched.


- Rockies are starting Austin Gomber who is 2-6 on the season, 1-1 at home, and only 67 strikeouts in the 99 innings pitched. His 1.37 WHIP isn’t a good sign that he won’t walk bats at the plate, being that he doesn’t miss bats often. He’s actually been hit 21 times in his last 3 starts, so even a poor batting team like San Francisco can have success vs Gomber.
