The Mets are coming into this game not playing very well recently as they have lost their last 3 straight as well as 4 of their last 5 games and were just swept by the Royals in their last series. They are going up against an Orioles team that has been surging recently as they lead the AL East with the best record and have also been playing very well recently, winning 4 of their last 5 games. David Peterson is starting for the Mets here and he is 3-7 with a 5.92 ERA this season. He has been pitching well recently but he has also been pitching out of the bullpen, going 2 innings or less in his recent appearances. He has not been great as a starter this season though and has been even worse in his road starts as he has allowed at least 3 earned runs in each of his last 6 road starts and at least 4 earned runs in 5 of his last 6 road starts. The Mets have also been in a big slump recently and the Orioles have a very good offense that is going to find ways to score runs in this game at home. Dean Kremer is starting for the Orioles here and he is 10-4 with a 4.66 ERA this season. He allowed 3 earned runs in his last start but he will be looking to have a better performance here against this cold lineup in the Mets and he also has not allowed many runs recently as he has allowed just 1 earned run or less in 3 of his last 5 starts. The Mets do not have a strong offense either and have not been hitting well recently so the Orioles will be able to outscore them here. The Orioles will win this game at home.
