Iowa is coming into this game off of a 24-14 win in their last game. They were at home against Utah State and their offense was a lot better from a season ago. Cade McNamara was not the sharpest in his Iowa debut but he was still a massive improvement to this offense and he will get better as he plays more in it. Now this will be his 2nd game running the offense and he will be much better in this big rivalry game. It was the Iowa defense that allowed more points than it should have in their last game but they will be focused on reducing that this week. They still have a very good defense that was one of the best in the Big ten last year and they will have no problem against this Iowa State team that has lost a lot of their key players. Iowa State managed to pull off a big home win over Northern Iowa 30-9 but Northern Iowa does not have nearly as much talent as Iowa does and Iowa is going to be hungry to win that trophy back after losing it last season. Now Iowa has a much improved offense to go along with that great offense and they are going to show Iowa State that they do not have the talent to keep up this season. Iowa will cover the spread in this game.
