Stanford is coming into this game after winning their last game in Hawaii 37-24. They played very well in that game on the road and they are going to be on the road again here, but now they are back in the state of California and are playing against a rival they are going to get up for. They are going up against a USC team that has already played 2 games this season and they have looked great in those, scoring at least 56 points in each. Their defense is still the same problem it was last year though as they have also allowed at least 14 points in each game and have not played any great teams. Now they are playing a conference rival who scored over 25 points on them last season and they are going to score points on this bad USC defense now that they have a much better team this year. That Stanford defense is not great though as passing was their weakness against Hawaii and now they are going up against the Heisman Trophy winner from last season who will be slinging the ball all over the field. USC also beat Stanford in a much closer game last season so they will be hungry to run up the score in this one, especially since the competition for the National Championship this year has so many good contenders. They need to make a statement in this game and they will try to run up the score here but they do not have the defense to keep Stanford off the board so this will turn into a high scoring game. Between these two teams, there will be enough points in this game to push it over the total.
