Result: Win
Tennessee is coming into this game with a 4-0 record this season. Tennessee was a very good team last season as they finished ranked 20th in the country and did go on a little run in the NCAA Tournament. They are returning some of their starters from last year but they have a very different looking team this season. All 4 of their wins this year have been by 10+ points with their 2 closest wins being on the road against Wisconsin and at a neutral location against Syracuse in their last game. They have been good this season but have not been as good away from their home court and their closer games have also been against the better teams they have faced. They are going up against a Purdue team that is also 4-0 this season and is ranked 2nd in the country, playing with a chip on their shoulder as well. Purdue had one of the best teams in the country last season as they were 29-6 overall and finished 3rd in the rankings but they fizzled out of the NCAA Tournament in the 1st round. They are also returning over 80% of their minutes played as well as over 85% of their scoring from last year and they have come out playing great as they are clearly on a mission to be the best and have no slip ups this year. They have been dominant in their wins as well with 3 straight home wins by 10+ points to open up the season and now they are coming off of a 10+ point win against Gonzaga in their last game who is ranked 11th in the country. Tennessee may be ranked 7th in the country but Purdue has a much better team with more returning players and they are playing with the motivation of what happened to them last year. Purdue will cover the spread in this game.
