(NCAAF) Iowa vs. Nebraska,
Point Spread: 2.50 | -106.00 Iowa (Away)
Result: Win
Iowa is coming into this game with a 9-2 record this season and have already clinched their spot in the Big Ten Championship. They have won their last 3 straight games and their offense has not been great in those but they do have one of the best defenses in the country to lean on. Their defense ranks 3rd in the country for points allowed this season as they average 12.4 points allowed per game. Their defense has also been even better recently as they have not allowed more than 7 points in 2 of their last 3 as well as 3 of their last 5 games. They are going up against a Nebraska team that is 5-6 this season and needs this game to become bowl eligible in Matt Rhule's 1st season of taking over this team. Nebraska has not been great in their recent games though as they have lost their last 3 straight and their offense has been awful in those as well, scoring no more than 17 points in any of those 3 games. Their defense has not been as good either as they have allowed at least 20 points in 2 of their last 3 games and Iowa actually has the defensive edge here despite being on the road as they average 6 less points allowed per game this season. As bad as Iowa has been on offense this season, Nebraska does not even have much of an edge there as Iowa has been averaging 18.5 points scored per game this year while Nebraska has been averaging 18.7 points scored per game. Iowa not only has the better defense in this game with not much of an edge for either offense, but Iowa has also been a much better team all year as they continue to find ways to win games. Iowa will cover the spread in this game.
