North Carolina is coming into this game with a 4-0 record this season and they have made a lot of moves in the transfer portal to improve their team from last year. They were still a good team last season but definitly underachieved considering their expectations so they will be hungry to climb the rankings this season with their new look team. They have been playing very well in their 4 games this year as they have dominated every opponent they have played, winning all 4 of their games by 10+ points, including their last game at a neutral location against Northern Iowa. They are going up against a Villanova team that is 4-1 this season and have improved a lot from last year, but they have not been as dominant in their games to start the season. They have been able to beat up on teams at home as all 3 of their wins there have been by 10+ points but they did lose on the road against Penn who does not have a great team and even though they are coming off of a 10+ point win against Texas Tech at a neutral location in this tournament, Texas Tech still does not have the talent that North Carolina does. North Carolina has a much better team than Villanova this season that has been playing much better recently and after the way things went for UNC last year, they are going to be focused on every game they play this year and getting their program back into the rankings as one of the best teams in the country.
