UMBC is coming into this game with a 3-4 record this season but they have not been playing well in their recent games. They have played 4 games at home this season with all 3 of their wins coming there but they have not beaten any good teams. Their wins were against Loyola MD and Sacred Heart who are not great teams and their other win came against Penn St York who is not a Division I school. They also have a loss to Marist in their other home game this year and they have lost all 3 of their road games as well. They opened the season with a 1 point loss on the road against an awful Louisville team and they have been much worse in their last 2 games as they lost on the road to Maryland and William & Mary, losing both games by 10+ points. They are going up against a Hampton team that is 2-4 this season and has not been great recently but they have also been playing a lot of their games away from home. They have lost their only 2 road games played this season as well as losing 2 of their 3 games at neutral locations, but they do have a win in 1 of those games as well as a win in their only home game this season against Mid-Atlantic Christian. Mid-Atlantic Christian is not a Division I school but this is still Hampton's 1st home game of the season against a Division I school and they will be hungry to show up with a win against an opponent they can beat that has been struggling away from home.
