The Yankees are coming into this game with a 12-6 record this season and they are going to be hungry to bounce back in this game so they can avoid being swept by the Blue Jays. They have lost their last 3 straight games but their offense started to wake up yesterday in their 5-4 loss, and now it has been much better as they have scored 4 runs or more in 3 of their last 4 games. They are going up against a Blue Jays team that is 10-8 this season and they have won their last 4 straight games, but their offense has not been overwhelming in those games as they have not scored more than 5 runs in any of those 4. Their pitching has been good in those games, but now they have Kevin Gausman starting here and he has not been off to a good start as he is 0-2 with an 11.57 ERA this season. He was great in his 1st start of the season as he allowed 1 earned run in a little over 4 innings pitched against the Rays, but he has been awful in his last 2 starts. He is coming off of a start which he allowed 6 earned runs in a little under 4 innings pitched against the Rockies who are one of the worst teams in the league this season, and prior to that he had his worst start of the season as he allowed 5 earned runs, 6 unearned, in a little over just 1 inning pitched, and that start was against the Yankees as well. The Yankees are going to be motivated to avoid the sweep here and they are going to get after Kevin Gausman with that strong lineup. The Yankees also have Marcus Stroman starting in this game and he has been much better this season as he is 1-1 with a 2.12 ERA. He is coming off of a start which he allowed 4 earned runs in 5 innings against the Marlins, but he will be looking to bounce back with a better performance since he allowed no earned runs in his first 2 starts of the season. His best start this season was also his start against the Blue Jays which he pitched 6 scoreless innings in, but the team still lost 3-0 after he left the game. The Yankees will be hungry to get their bats going here and they have already blown up Gausman once this season while Stroman will bring his best stuff for his former team and the Yankees also have the better bullpen to back them up as well. The Yankees will win this game and avoid being swept here.
