The Orioles are coming into this game with a 22-11 record this season and they have won their last 3 straight games, but their offense has not been great in these. They have won their last 3 straight games but they have only scored 5 runs total in their last 2 games, and they have also scored 3 runs or less in 3 of their last 4 games. They are going up against a Reds team that is 16-17 this season and has lost their last 4 straight games, but they have not been swept in their last 4 straight series so they are going to be hungry to win this game at home and avoid getting swept by an Orioles team that has not been great on offense recently. The Orioles have been pitching well in their recent games to make up for the poor offense, but they have Dean Kremer starting in this game and he is 2-2 with a 4.19 ERA this season. He has not been awful but he has consistently allowed at least 2 earned runs in each of his last 4 starts as well as 5 of his 6 starts this season. This was also a problem for him last season but the team scored a lot of runs in the games he started so it was not a big issue, it has not been the same this season though as they have only won 3 of the 6 games he has started in. The Reds offense has not been great in this series but they do have a good offense that can score a lot of runs and this could be the spark they need at home to get their offense going again. Nick Lodolo is also starting for the Reds here and he is 3-0 with a 1.88 ERA this season. He has been great in his starts as he has allowed just 1 earned run or less in 3 of his last 4 starts and he is coming off of a start that he had 11 strikeouts in so the recent offensive struggles for the Orioles are not going to get any better here. The Reds will win this game at home and avoid being swept in the series.
