The Astros are coming into this game with a 12-23 record this season as they have been off to an awful start. They were finally starting to win some games, but now they have fallen back into a slump with 3 straight losses. They have also scored just 7 runs total in their last 3 games while allowing 20 runs in that span. They are going up against a Yankees team that is 24-13 this season and they have been on fire in their recent games. They have won their last 4 straight as well as 5 of their last 6 games. Their offense has been great in these as they have scored 20 runs total in their last 3 games, but their pitching has also been very good as they have allowed 3 runs or less in each of their last 4 as well as 5 of their last 6 games. This run of good pitching will continue in this game as well as the Yankees have a good bullpen but also have Carlos Rodón starting here who is 2-2 with a 3.68 ERA this season. He has been very good this season as he made 6 starts in April and did not allow more than 3 earned runs in any of those, allowing 2 earned runs or less in 5 of those 6 starts. He is actually coming off of his worst start of the season which came in his 1st start in May as he allowed 6 earned runs against the Orioles, but this Astros offense has not been that good to start the season, especially in their recent games with the runs they have been scoring, so this is a good game for Rodon to bounce back in. Spencer Arrighetti is starting for the Astros as well and he is 0-3 with an 8.27 ERA this season. He is only in his rookie season and has made just 4 MLB starts in his career, but he has been consistently giving up runs in these as he has allowed at least 2 earned runs in all 4 starts. He is coming off of a start which he allowed 2 earned runs which is not awful, but he has also been much worse in his 2 road starts this season as he allowed 7 earned runs in 1 road start and 4 earned runs in his other road start, those being his 2 worst start of his career in the MLB. The Yankees have been hot recently with a very strong offense that is going to score runs here, especially since they are chasing the Orioles for 1st place in the division. The Yankees also have some extra incentive here as the Astros have been beating up on them a lot in recent years, but the Yankees already swept them in Houston earlier this season and are starting to turn the tables on the Astros in this series. The Yankees will win this game at home.
