He also has not pitched since giving up 5 earned runs at home back on April 19 so he is making his 1st start here back from injury. This is also his 2nd start of the season on the road, his 1st road start being his worst start of the season as he allowed 7 earned runs in 4 innings pitched against the Rays. Jared Jones is starting for the Pirates in this game and he is 3-4 with a 2.89 ERA this season. He is in his rookie season but he has already made 9 starts this year and has not allowed more than 3 earned runs in any of them. He has also been much better in his 4 home starts as he has allowed 2 earned runs or less in all 4 of those. He has been consistent all season so he is going to have another good outing here, and the Pirates offense has been very good recently anyway so they are going to score the runs they need to win this game.
